HUMAN WAVE is a non governmental, non-profit, apolitical, secular, voluntary organization committed to promote the standard and the quality of life of the disadvantaged and marginalized people of the society.
It was founded by Mr. Sur (who had been attached to the Service Civil International India since 1980 and had worked as Administrator of Institute for Indian Mother & Child for five years) informally in 1997 and was officially registered on 3rd November 98 under the West Bengal Society Registration Act of 1961.
Mr. Tapas Kumar Sur came in close contact with the people of “Adarshanagore” located in Mankundu and observed that not only the economic scarcity but also the socio-cultural setbacks of the people were the cause of the miseries of their lives and initiated Anewshan Integrated Developmental Project in 1997.
Since then and thanks to the support of the I.I.M.K and our Belgian friends, HUMAN WAVE has expanded its multifaceted activities beyond Adarshanagore, Mankundu to include a medical outdoor clinic and Health promotion, Primary School and Tutorials in south 24, Paraganas
